The short version: FixMyCar does not require an account, does not sell your data, and stores all your vehicle information locally on your device. When you run a diagnosis, a description of your car problem is sent to third-party AI services to generate results — nothing else.
1. Who We Are
FixMyCar: AI Car Mechanic ("FixMyCar", "we", "us", or "our") is an iOS application developed and operated by Snir Tram. You can contact us at:

This Privacy Policy applies to the FixMyCar iOS app (bundle ID: com.fixmycar.app) and describes how we handle information when you use the app.
2. Information We Collect and How

2b. Automatically Collected Information
We collect no analytics, no crash reporting, and no usage telemetry beyond what Apple's own App Store infrastructure provides (e.g., App Store download counts). We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs.

All permissions are optional. The app degrades gracefully if any permission is denied — diagnosis via text input always works without any permissions.
3. Third-Party AI Services
When you tap Diagnose My Car, FixMyCar sends your car problem description (and, if provided, vehicle year/make/model) to the following third-party AI services in parallel:

Important We do not control how these providers handle data once it is received. Please review each provider's privacy policy. We recommend not including personally identifiable information (name, address, license plate, etc.) in your car problem description.
A local knowledge base running entirely on your device is always queried first — before any cloud AI call — covering 28 common problems, 199 OBD/DTC codes, and 16 sound patterns. If your issue is matched locally, the answer may be generated with no data leaving your device at all.
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit 2. We do not receive or store your payment information. Transaction verification happens on-device using Apple's cryptographic receipts.

Subscription management and cancellation is handled through your Apple ID settings or via the in-app "Manage Subscription" button in Settings → Subscription.
5. Data Storage and Security
All user data (diagnosis history, vehicle info, odometer readings, maintenance records) is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults and app sandboxed file storage). We operate no servers, no databases, and no cloud sync for your personal data.
API keys used to call third-party AI services are stored in the iOS Keychain — encrypted at rest and never included in backups sent to third parties.
6. Your Rights and Data Controls
You have full control over your data at all times:
- Export your data — Settings → Data & Privacy → Export My Data. Downloads all your diagnosis history and settings as a JSON file.
- Delete all data — Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete All My Data. Immediately clears all local data and cancels all scheduled notifications. This action is irreversible.
- Revoke permissions — via iOS Settings → FixMyCar at any time.
Because we store no data on our own servers, there is no account to delete and no server-side deletion request needed. Deleting the app from your device removes all associated data.
7. Children's Privacy
FixMyCar is rated 4+ on the App Store and is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). The app does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information.
8. GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the following applies:
- Legal basis for processing: When you initiate a diagnosis, your car problem description is sent to AI services under the legal basis of performance of a contract (providing the diagnosis service you requested).
- Data controller: Snir Tram (contact details in Section 1).
- Data transfers: AI service providers (Google, Groq, HuggingFace) may process data outside the EEA. All three providers maintain Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
- Your rights: Right to access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. To exercise any right, contact us at the email in Section 1.
- Right to lodge a complaint: You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
FixMyCar does not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not have a "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" opt-out because we do not sell data. California residents may contact us to request disclosure of any personal information we hold — though in practice, because all data is stored locally on your device, we hold none.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
