Welcome to CarDetector ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. CarDetector is operated as an independent app. For questions, contact us at tamsnir@gmail.com.
When you use the app, you may capture or upload photos of vehicles. These images are sent to third-party AI services solely to identify the vehicle (make, model, year). Images are not stored permanently by us.
If you manually add a car to the database, that information is stored locally on your device only.
We do not use any analytics SDK. We may receive anonymized crash diagnostic reports through Apple's standard App Store services only if you have opted in to share app diagnostics with developers in your iOS settings.

We process your data on the legal basis of legitimate interest — specifically, to deliver the core service you have requested by using the app.
To identify vehicles, images are transmitted to the following AI services. By using CarDetector, your images may be processed by these providers under their respective privacy policies:

These services may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. We rely on each provider's data processing terms to govern these transfers.
All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple Inc. through the App Store. We do not collect, see, or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing: apple.com/privacy.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 5 (AI service providers required to operate the app) or as required by applicable law.
All users: You may request information about what data we hold and ask for its deletion by contacting tamsnir@gmail.com. Because we do not store images or personal data on our own servers, most deletion requests relate to locally stored data (which you can remove by deleting the app).
EU/UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
CarDetector is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect information in transit (HTTPS/TLS for all API calls). No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may update this policy periodically. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.
